Green massacre
Hyderabad, a city endowed with a diverse ecosystem and rich cultural heritage, was once a paradise of lakes and forests. Today, it stands as a stark example of reckless urban expansion. Entire ecosystems are being wiped out in the name of ‘progress’. Of late, the Auto Bhan Road is being constructed with full enthusiasm. Many old trees in Hyderabad have been cut down as a result.
Deforestation is one of the primary reasons for environmental degradation and global warming and Pakistan is rapidly losing what little green spaces it has left. This trend can be mitigated by implementing sustainable practices and smart planning. The environmental effects of land clearing should be carefully considered while planning construction projects.
