Pakistan to defend its sovereignty at all costs: Shazia Marri
Shazia Marri says PPP Chairman has been an effective and strong voice against India’s continued hostilities
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) spokesperson Shazia Marri on Thursday, while condemning India’s actions as blatant violations of international law, said India’s unprovoked and unnecessary attacks on Pakistan are a blatant violation of international laws.
“I salute our brave armed forces who vigorously defended us and delivered a fitting response to India’s aggression. By launching this unprovoked attack, India attempted to test our patience but was met with an effective and timely reply,” she said in a statement.
The PPP leader said that the irresponsible actions taken by the Indian government represent a direct assault on regional peace. “Under Narendra Modi’s rule, India has transformed into a rogue state,” she said.
She said PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has been an effective and strong voice against India’s continued hostilities. “The Pakistan People’s Party has always advocated for dignified peace.”
Highlighting the tragic toll of India’s aggression, Marri said that 31 innocent civilians, including children aged three, four, five, seven, and 12 were martyred. She also criticised India’s baseless attempt to link the recent Pahalgam attack to Pakistan without providing any credible evidence. “Pakistan has strongly condemned the Pahalgam attack and has completely rejected all baseless accusations made by India,” she stated.
She said India has a long-standing habit of blaming Pakistan for incidents without any investigation. “This approach is not only irresponsible but also dangerous. It is a deliberate attempt by India to divert attention from its internal failures and the growing human rights violations in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).”
Marri emphasised the unity and preparedness of the Pakistani nation. “Our nation is united, our forces are vigilant, and every citizen is ready to defend the country’s sovereignty. Pakistan does not seek war. However, if our land, sovereignty, or citizens are threatened, we will not remain silent.”
She called on the international community to intervene. “We urge the international community to take immediate notice of India’s reckless actions, which threaten to turn the region — home to two nuclear powers — into a battlefield. No one should be allowed to jeopardise regional peace for personal political gain. If our desire for peace is mistaken for weakness, we will respond at every level.”
The PPP leader reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve, saying “Pakistan is a sovereign country and a peace-loving nation. But if compelled, we will defend our land at all costs.”
