STEM Education Workshop begins
LAHORE:A STEM Education Training Workshop was launched at the University of Education, Lahore in collaboration with UK-Pakistan Science and Innovation Global Network (UPSIGN) on Tuesday.
Provincial Minister for Higher Education Rana Sikandar Hayat was the chief guest on this occasion. In addition, Rana Sikandar also inaugurated the university's annual Sports Gala 2025 and announced a cash prize of Rs one million for the winners on behalf of the government.
During this four-day training workshop, over 200 teachers from 10 universities across the province will receive modern training. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Aqif Anwar Ch. Addressing the ceremony, Rana Sikandar said that the Punjab government, through the University of Education, aims to provide the latest training to teachers across the province. To introduce students to modern education, the government will distribute one hundred thousand laptops over the next four months. Over 30,000 students have already benefited from merit-based scholarships, and an additional 25,000 students will receive support. Given the educational needs, a substantial increase in educational institutions will be made across the province. Dr. Aqif Anwar, in his address, said that the University of Education is the largest university in the province in terms of geography and other metrics, offering high-quality education to over 50,000 students.
