Justice Mansoor takes oath as acting CJP
Ceremony was attended by SC judges, attorney general, senior lawyers and officers of Law and JCP
ISLAMABAD: Senior judge of the Supreme Court Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah took oath as Acting Chief Justice of the country on Monday.
The oath was administered by Justice Munib Akhtar in a ceremony held at the apex court here. Justice Shah will act as the Chief Justice during the period Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Yahya Afridi remains abroad. The ceremony was attended by the Supreme Court judges, attorney general, senior lawyers and officers of the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan.
The Supreme Court issued an official statement the other day, stating that CJP Afridi will be going to lead a delegation to participate in the 20th Conference of the Chief Justices of the Supreme Courts of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states, being held in Hangzhou, China, from April 22 to 26.
