The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Sindh police on Friday arrested a wanted terrorist affiliated with the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) during an intelligence-based operation in Saeedabad.
The suspect was identified as Dahan, alias Asif Chikna. According to CTD officials, illegal weapons were recovered from his possession at the time of arrest. The arrest came after intelligence reports indicated that Dahan and his close associate, Shafi, were facilitating BLA terrorists in Karachi. To avoid arrest, both individuals had been living in hiding in Hub, Balochistan.
CTD officials further disclosed that Shafi was the son of BLA terrorist Bahadur PMT, who was believed to be operating a sleeper cell of the banned organisation from a neighbouring country. Bahadur PMT was also listed in the CTD Red Book of most-wanted individuals.
Based on information obtained during Dahan’s interrogation, a CTD team was dispatched to Hub to apprehend Shafi. Officials also revealed that Dahan had previously been imprisoned in cases involving murder, attempted murder, and armed encounters with police.
