Pakistan bans Corbin Bosch for a year
KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board has banned South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch from the Pakistan Super League for one year after he withdrew from the tournament despite signing a contract.
Bosch, 30, had been selected by Peshawar Zalmi in January’s PSL draft but he later chose to play in another league. The PCB also fined Bosch an undisclosed amount. In a statement released by the PCB, Bosch apologised and accepted responsibility.
“I deeply regret my decision to withdraw from the Pakistan Super League and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi, and the wider cricket community,” Bosch said. The PCB said Bosch won’t be eligible for next season.
Bosch, who has played in T20 leagues worldwide, said he hopes to return to PSL. The PSL has become a premier Twenty20 tournament, drawing top international players in recent years. The 10th PSL edition begins Friday in Rawalpindi with defending champions Lahore Qalandars facing Islamabad United in the opener.
