Overseas Ambassadors becomes first CPL franchise
ISLAMABAD: Overseas Ambassadors becomes the first franchise of the Capital Premier League (CPL).
The signing ceremony was held at the local hotel where Sydney Pacers Academy Chief Executive Sohail Shah and Chief Executive CPL Naiyar Siddiqui signed the deed. CPL Owner Arshad Ali Bega was also present on the occasion “CPL is the first national league being organized on a private level. In all eight teams will compete in the league selected from all over Pakistan,” Naiyar Siddiqui said.
Overseas Ambassadors team is the first picked up by CPL. “I have selected some of the best talent from Pakistan and helped them play with different Clubs in Australia. Haris Rauf and Salman Irshad are a few of the leading teams,” Sohail Shah said.
“Our base is in Pakistan. Some of the top talent has been selected. Our mission is to promote cricket.” Naiyar Siddiqui said that they were in the final stages of getting an NOC from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). “The PCB chairman has already signed the NOC which will be issued after adopting the due course,” he said.
