JUI-F chief calls for unity to face challenges
Maulana Fazlur Rehman underscores importance of collective efforts in addressing country’s challenges
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUIF) Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday stressed the need for all political stakeholders to exercise patience and consider the ground realities while performing their responsibilities in the prevailing situation.
Speaking at his residence in Shorkot during a meeting with party officials, media representatives, and delegations from various sectors, he warned that the politics of hatred and confrontation could further destabilise the country.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman underscored the importance of collective efforts in addressing the country’s challenges.
While acknowledging the positive aspects of political consensus among various parties, Maulana Fazl stressed that mutual differences must also be resolved to form a unified political front capable of effectively confronting the challenges facing the country. He said that the internal divisions within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were now an open secret, with corruption allegations in the province no longer confined to political opponents but becoming a public topic of discussion.
Expressing concerns over the deteriorating security situation, particularly in Balochistan, the JUIF chief called for immediate and sincere measures to address these issues.
He revealed that JUIF would convene its central general council meeting next week in Lahore, where an important decision would be made regarding whether the party would continue its struggle for constitutional democracy and public rights independently or in collaboration with other political parties.
He reiterated that the JUIF’s primary goal was the supremacy of the Constitution, Pakistan’s security, and the restoration of public dignity and that every possible effort would be made to achieve these objectives.
