‘Govt taking practical steps to provide relief to masses’

GUJRANWALA: PMLN central leader and former federal minister Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan has said that the government is taking practical steps to provide relief to the people.

He expressed these views while talking to a delegation led by former MPA Haji Waqar Ahmed Cheema at his residence. Former UC chairman Chaudhry Ali Shan, Chaudhry Ijaz Gul and others were also present on the occasion. Khurram told that provision of relief to the masses is a part of policies of the government. He said that announcement of reduction in electricity prices was commendable and Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif had won the hearts of the people by deciding to reduce electricity prices. He said that the government was taking historic steps to revive the country’s economy.

‘NEW EXAMINATION HALL BEING CONSTRUCTED IN GUJRANWALA’: Commissioner Syed Naveed Haider Sherazi has said that a huge new examination hall is being constructed in the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Gujranwala to provide best environment to the students.

He expressed these views during his surprise visit to the education board here on Friday. The commissioner inspected the under construction building and instructed the contractor and other staff to complete the construction work as soon as possible. He said that along with the examination hall, a 4-Kanal parking stand was also being constructed to provide parking facilities for motorcycles and other vehicles.

He said that when necessary, the examination hall can also be used for marking centre and other official matters related to the board. He said that the examination hall would prove to be a solid milestone for conducting clean and transparent examinations.
