‘Rule of law should be established’
Islamabad : The central convener of the Awam Pakistan Party and former prime minister, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, said that it is the people who make and destroy politicians. The constitution should be restored and the rule of law should be established. It is good sigh that the opposition parties come together on one platform. We are neither against nor in favour of anyone. We talk about the law. A country without the rule of law cannot survive.
He said this in his important conversation with journalists after the iftar hosted by Chaudhry Inam Zafar. Chaudhry Inam Zafar, Usman Abbasi, Mehr Liaquat, Nazir Ahmed Kashmiri, Sheikh Abdul Waheed, Samina Shoaib, Fatima Atif and others were also present on the occasion Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that there should be consensus in the thinking of the opposition. Imran is in jail. The person who comes out after meeting him has contradictions in his statement. He said that we are a new party in the parliament. JUI and other parties also have conflicts with PTI. The country needs unity so that problems can be resolved. The situation was different until 2018. The system has changed in the last seven years. When people work together, who has the authority? When policies are made, it is not known who is making the policy. There is talk of development in agriculture, but there is no water in Punjab and Sindh, so where will the water for the canals come from? The credibility of the government is not visible. The situation in the two provinces is very worrying.
Fazlur Rehman and other allies have differences with the government, but they can sit together for a greater purpose. Such an environment must be created where everyone can sit together. The PPP criticizes every day. In response to a question, he said that Nawaz Sharif is a senior politician. He has 40 years of political experience, his character is formed. It is strange that they are sitting silently. Everyone is a silent spectator.
