KARACHI: MariEnergies has announced the commencement of gas and condensate production from the Shewa discovery, located in the Waziristan Block of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
According to a disclosure to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), production has started under the Extended Well Testing (EWT) phase following the completion of a gas transmission pipeline by Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL). The current production rates stand at 26 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas and 244 barrels per day (BBL/D) of condensate. The company is gradually increasing output as the gas processing plant stabilises.
MariEnergies operates the Waziristan Block with a 55 per cent working interest, while Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) holds 35 per cent and Orient Petroleum Inc has 10 per cent.
