Sindh PPP Information Secretary Aajiz Dhamrah has accused the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) of exploiting the ongoing protest drive against the federal government’s decision to construct new irrigation canals on the Indus River as a way to come into power through undemocratic means.
Speaking at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Tuesday, the PPP leader said that every concerned section of society in the entire Sindh, including lawyers, students, writers, intellectuals and civil society organisations, had been protesting against the construction of new canals.
He told media persons that the Pakistan Peoples Party ruling in Sindh fully backed this protest campaign and was also a part of it. He said the GDA had resorted to protesting for power grab.
