The township of Shahzad Town area of Islamabad has a population of around 10,000. A traffic signal existing at the entry point of this area was recently removed while the road it was on was being re-carpeted. Resultantly, the pedestrians including school-going children, teachers, women and elderly citizens, face a lot of difficulty while crossing the National Park Road.
Some days ago, two girls were hit by a car when they were crossing the road. A similar mishap may take place at any time. Therefore, in the interest of the safety of the pedestrians, an overhead pedestrian bridge near the entry point of Shahzad Town is very essential.
