AVLC kills notorious car thief in encounter
The Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) SITE Division on Wednesday killed a suspected robber in an alleged police encounter near Habib Bank Chowrangi in SITE-A. The deceased was identified as Abdul Wajid, a key member of the notorious Lashari gang, involved in numerous cases of car snatching and other criminal activities.
According to the police, Wajid had a long criminal record, with multiple cases of murder, robbery, and police encounters. He had been arrested and imprisoned multiple times. During the encounter, police recovered a stolen Suzuki Hi-Roof, which had been snatched on 8 February 2025 (case no 12/2025) and registered at the Shahra-e-Noor Jahan police station. A 30-bore pistol was also seized from the suspect. Further investigation revealed that Wajid was wanted in multiple cases registered in Bahawalpur.
