RAWALPINDI: Judge Amjad Ali Shah of Special Anti-Terrorism Court Rawalpindi approved the bail application of a woman named in a cheating and fraud case against Rs200,000 surety bond.
A duty judge gave the bail due to unavailability of the judge of Anti-Corruption Court Rawalpindi.Earlier, a senior civil judge (Family Division) Rawalpindi had sent the woman to jail on judicial remand. The Civil Lines Police had registered a case under sections 420, 468, 471 and 494 of the Pakistan Penal Code on Sept 12 last year on the application of Adnan Shamoon, an officer of a sensitive agency.
According to the first information report (FIR), the applicant got married to Anam Hasan on February 8, 2014, with whom he had three children. In Sept 2023, while the applicant was going to Sargodha for an eight-month departmental course, his wife cut off contact with him.
Later on, it transpired that the woman had obtained ‘khula’ (divorce) from a court, and a divorce certificate from Union Council 26 of Sadiqabad. Later, she contracted another marriage on May 8 last year. When the man came to know about the ‘khula’ matter and second marriage of his wife, he got registered a case against her.
