Water tanker torched after another citizen killed

A man was killed and another injured after being hit by a water tanker on Friday near Gulshan-e-Iqbal’s Sunday Bazaar on University Road.
Following the accident, police and rescue teams transported the casualties to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. The deceased was identified as 28-year-old Haris, son of Saleem, while the injured was identified as 18-year-old Ahmed.
In response to the incident, an enraged crowd gathered at the scene and set the water tanker on fire. The fire brigade was called in and firemen managed to bring the blaze under control. The police stated that they had taken a suspect into custody for allegedly setting the tanker on fire. A case has been registered.
