Official for moral training to fight corruption

MARDAN: Commissioner Mardan Division Nisar Ahmed on Wednesday called for focusing on moral training of the new generation and improving the implementation of laws to eradicate corruption from society.

He was addressing as chief guest an awareness seminar on anti-corruption at Bacha Khan Medical College organized by the district administration Mardan. National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakh­tunkhwa Director Akhtar Ali, retired commissioner Syed Muhammad Javed, District Khatib Mufti Jamil and Dean Bacha Khan Medical College Dr Amjad Ali also addressed the seminar.

Deputy Commissioner Mardan Dr Azmatullah Wazir and ADC Finance Syed Fahad Iftikhar were also present. The commissioner Mardan said that the doors of corruption can be closed to a large extent through digitization, good governance and computerization of land and other records. He said that corruption can be eradicated by working together.

NAB Khyber Pakh­tunkhwa Director Akhtar Ali said that corruption was the root of all evils. “To eradicate corruption, NAB has adopted a three-pronged strategy, which includes awareness and prevention of corruption along with operations,” he added.
