PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday extended the protective bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial minister, lawmakers and other leaders and directed the relevant authorities to submit details of cases registered against them.
Also, the court disposed of petitions of provincial Minister Fakhar Jahan, PTI leader Ali Zaman and Malik Shahab advocate after receiving details of the cases against them. The PHC bench comprising Justice Sahibzada Asadullah and Justice Salahuddin heard the petitions regarding protective bail and case details of National Assembly member Shehryar Afridi, Dawar Kundi, and Muhammad Nawaz.
Petitioners’ lawyer Alam Khan Adenzai informed the court that multiple cases had been registered against the petitioners at different places, but the details were not being provided.Upon this, representatives of National Accountability Bureau and Federal Investigation Agency told the bench that there was no NAB inquiry or FIA case against the petitioners.
Meanwhile, the deputy attorney general said that the federal government would submit its report in the next hearing.The court then extended the protective bail of the petitioners and sought details of the cases registered against them.
Similarly, the bench also heard the petition filed by Minister Fakhar Jahan, PTI leader Ali Zaman, and Malik Shahab advocate for details of the cases against them. The court was informed that there were no inquiries against the petitioners in NAB or FIA, while the DAG said that the federal government had also submitted its report. The court ruled that since the report about cases had been received, these petitions would be disposed of. The court disposed of their petitions and stated that if details of cases registered in Punjab were required, the petitioners should approach the relevant court.
