Army dominate National Boxing semis
KARACHI: Eight men and seven women boxers from Army have qualified for the finals of the National Boxing Championship.
Five boxers from Navy, two boxers from HEC and two boxers from Balochistan reached the finals on Thursday. While in Women’s competitions, Komal Khaliq from Azad Jammu and Kashmir also upset and reached the finals. The semi-finals of the 41st National Elite Men’s and 5th Women’s National Boxing Championship, is being organised at KPT Spors Complex by Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF).
Results: (semi-finals) women’s 60kg category: Army’s Mehreen Baloch bt Wapda’s Arooj. Wome’s 48kg category, Navy’s Gohar Taj bt HEC’s Amna and Army’s Umm Al-Baneen bt Punjab’s Sana.
Women’s 51 kg category: Army’s Maria Rind bt WAPDA’s Iqra and Navy’s Maryam bt PAF’s Sehrish. Women’s 54 kg category: Army’s Malaika Zahid bt Navy’s Gul Jabeen, HEC’s Shehzadi Sakhi overwhelmed Wapda’s Sahiba Yousuf.
Women’s 57 kg: PAF’s Bushra Akhtar bt Punjab’s Urwa Nehal and Army’s Fatima Zahra bt Balochistan’s Kubra. Women’s 65 kg: Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s Komal Khaliq upset HEC’s Shajiha Ismail, Army’s Dua Zahra bt Navy’s Moazzama Ali.
