‘Time management a key factor in health sector’
LAHORE : The time management has a unique place in the health sector which doctors and medical staff should be especially aware of.
The importance of time management is an established fact and all the developed nations have taken time as a precious asset because the secret of prosperity of developed countries also lies in acknowledgment of this blessing.
Ameer Uddin Medical College Principal Prof. Dr. Al-Fareed Zafar expressed these views while addressing the participants
of the Workshop organised by Lahore General Hospital Gynecology Unit 3 on the topic of “Importance of Time and Time Management” on Saturday.
A large number of doctors including Prof. Shamsa Humayun, Prof. Nudrat Sohail, Prof.
Amna Ahsan Cheema, Dr. Saira Zeeshan, Dr. Laila Shafiq and Dr. Fatima Ayub were present on this occasion.
Prof. Al-Fareed Zafar said that the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam understanding the importance of time had also given the message to the Pakistani nation of "work, work and work" which we should not forget in any way.
Therefore, whatever field or profession is we should make the most of our valuable time by working with full effort, dedication and the spirit of national service.
He added that in all fields, the importance of time should be given top priority while in the medical profession better healthcare can be provided to patients and many precious human lives can be saved through time management.
He said that punctuality helps us to establish a balance between our personal, professional and social lives.
He further said that if we manage time properly we can find adequate time for every task and our life does not become chaotic and we can prove to be more productive.
Prof. Shamsa Hymayun, Prof. Nudrat Sohail, Prof. Amna Ahsan Cheema and other speakers said that it is more important for health professionals and paramedics connected to the medical field to understand the importance of time as their timely action can save any precious life from being lost because there are only a few moments between the life and death of a critically ill patient.
Realizing this aspect doctors can be successful in bringing the patients back from the brink of death by providing immediate medical assistance.
Dr. Saira Zeeshan and Dr. Laila Shafiq said on the occasion that many people injured in accidents lose their lives simply because they do not get proper medical assistance on time and they die due to excessive blood loss therefore, the doctors and medical staff of any hospital have to ensure the provision of medical assistance in the shortest possible time and this can also be a practical expression of the true value of time for the hospital and its staff.
They termed the holding of this workshop on this important and sensitive issue organized by Gynecology Unit 3 at the LGH as the best use of time in it will positively nourish all of us mentally.
