312 found pilfering electricity: Fesco

JHANG: Faisalabad Electricity Supply Company (Fesco) Jhang division Deputy Manager (operations) Syed Saleem Shah Thursday said special task force caught 312 people stealing electricity and imposed Rs 1.9 million as surcharge so far in June.
Chairing a meeting of AMOs of Fesco Jhang Division held to review recovery progress, Saleem directed the Fesco officials to gear up recovery drive besides early completion of billing process and ensure recovery before the end of June positively and correctly by utilising upgraded android phone meter reading technology.
The meeting reviewed recovery progress of all eight sub-divisions of the Fesco Jhang Division that was declared satisfactory.
The meeting was also informed about detection of electricity thieves and fines imposed on 1,686 consumers and charging of 19, 30,000 units. The DMO asked the billing section staff to avoid over billing to consumers.
