Cop martyred in Lakki
LAKKI MARWAT: A cop embraced martyrdom unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on him in the jurisdiction of the Ghaznikhel Police Station.
Police sources said that Constable Idris was on his way back to his village, Gorka Dalasa Shah, from the police lines when gunmen targeted him. The constable sustained severe injuries in the attack and succumbed to his wounds at the scene. The body was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem examination. Following the incident, a heavy contingent of police forces has been dispatched to the area, and an investigation has been launched in search of the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, police in the Sarai Gambila area successfully defused an improvised explosive device (IED). According to police officials, unidentified militants had planted the explosive device beneath a bridge near Wanda Shah Mando, apparently to target the Sarai Gambila Police Station’s patrol team.
