NOWSHERA: In a brazen incident of robbery, a group of armed robbers stormed the house of a transporter at Sher Garhi locality in Pabbi town and took away with Rs815,000 in cash, five tola of gold jewelry, four mobile phones, and other valuables.It was learnt that around 10 armed robbers broke into the house of a transporter, Nurtaj Ali. The robbers held the family hostage at gunpoint and ransacked the house.
The robbers entered the home when the family was having dinner. They forced the head of the household, along with his wife and children, into a room, tying them up with ropes. The women and children were confined to the room along with the men. Meanwhile, three to four robbers stood guard outside, and seven others collected the valuables.
Armed with Kalashnikovs and pistols, the robbers demanded the women’s jewelry. They forcefully removed the jewelry from the women, which included earrings and rings. Three of the robbers were seen searching the house, while the rest of the gang focused on looting. In total, the robbers managed to steal Rs815,000 in cash, five tola of gold jewelry, four mobile phones, and other valuables before fleeing the scene.
Meanwhile, the local residents staged a protest to condemn the rising wave of robberies in the area. They said that the incident of robberies had increased in recent days that included a high-profile heist at the National Bank of Pakistan in the area.
