A meeting of Board of Advance Studies and Research (BASR), chaired by University of Karachi Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Qaiser, has approved two MS (Masters of Surgery), seven PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) and 13 MPhil (Master of Philosophy) degrees in various disciplines, the varsity’s Registrar, Professor Dr Moazzam Ali Khan, stated on Monday.
Those who were awarded PhD degrees are Chaudhry Muhammad Irfan (Economics), Muhammad Ahsanuddin (Economics), Shameel Ahmed Zuberi (Business Administration), Anjum Sarfaraz (International Relations), Ruqqaya (Biochemistry), Zamiza Azmat (Mass Communication), Fauzia (Molecular Medicine) and M.S Degree were awarded to Asadullah (Plastic Surgery Civil) and Muhammad Arshad (Orthopadic JPMC).
The researchers who would receive their MPhil degrees are Saima (Mathematics), Rabia Hasan (Applied Economics), Amber Mehar (Quran and Sunnah), Ahsaan Ahmed (Pharmaceutical Chemistry), Aliya Zaman (Pathology), Nazish Jafar (Pathology), Amir Bux (Microbiology), Hina Faisal (Microbiology), Sadaf Saeed (Microbiology), Afshan Mahboob Khan (Physiology), Fareena Khalil Ahmed (Physiology), Jahanzaib (Physiology) and Sumera Mustafa Abbasi (Physiology).
