Pakistan requires efficient administrative machinery, says Murad
CM Shah urges delegation members to serve public in best possible manner during their upcoming civil service
KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah met a delegation comprising 11 under-training assistant commissioners from Punjab on Wednesday who have been posted in different districts of Sindh as part of their training programme.
He urged the delegation members to serve the public in the best possible manner during their upcoming civil service.
Shah said Pakistan required efficient administrative machinery. He hoped that the induction of the new assistant commissioners would beef up the civil service of Pakistan with improvement in its service delivery.
He urged the under-training assistant commissioners to acquire expertise in different fields of civil service and public administration. He talked in detail about the service, career objectives, and future of the under-training civil servants. The meeting was attended by Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Asif Hyder Shah, Principal Secretary to Sindh CM Agha Wasif, Secretary to CM Abdul Rahim Shaikh, Secretary Services Ghulam Ali, and Additional Secretary Services Agha Sher Zaman.
Separately, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took cognisance of incidents of deforestation in forest lands in Sehwan and other parts of District Jamshoro.
According to a statement, he asked the commissioner of Hyderabad Division and the provincial forests department to probe into deforestation attempts and submit to him an investigation report.
He said the detailed probe report should be submitted to him in three days after getting input from the relevant chief conservator of forests. He directed the officials concerned to take strict action against unscrupulous elements involved in tree cutting on forest lands in Sindh.
Shah said the trees were part of the natural heritage of Sindh and the forests department was duty-bound to prevent deforestation. He said that no official should show negligence and dereliction of duty in protecting the forests in the province.
The CM warned that strict punitive action would be taken if any forests department official was found colluding with the anti-social elements involved in tree cutting on forest land. He said that it was unlawful to build human settlements on the forest lands protected by the government.
