Sherpao condemns Kurram firing
PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao on Saturday condemned the firing incident in Kurram in which the deputy commissioner and four others were injured.
In a statement, he sympathized with the injured and prayed for their quick recovery. The QWP leader criticized the federal and provincial governments for their failure to maintain law and order in the Kurram district.
Aftab Sherpao said that law and order was worsening in Kurram considering the attack on government vehicles in the Bagan area. He noted that this incident had once again sparked anxiety among the public regarding the deteriorating security situation in Kurram.
Aftab Sherpao expressed concern over the inability of the authorities to reopen the main road connecting Kurram with Peshawar and restore peace even three months after unrest began. He warned that continued negligence and lack of responsibility in ensuring security and resolving the crisis could lead to severe instability across the region.
Calling on the state and other stakeholders to take decisive action, Aftab Sherpao called for concrete measures to improve the situation and fully implement the recent peace agreement to restore stability in Kurram.
