UAE envoy, Punjab governor discuss expanding bilateral ties
LAHORE:The Ambassador of United Arab Emirates to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi called on Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider here at Governor’s House. They discussed matters of mutual interest and ways to expanding bilateral relations in the economic sector. Governor apprised the UAE ambassador of the difficulties faced by Pakistanis, especially students, in obtaining visas.
Speaking on the occasion, governor said that Pakistan and the UAE have deep brotherly relations. He said that they want to take relations between Pakistan and the UAE to greater heights. The governor said that the development of the economy is the top priority of the government. Therefore, the government is providing facilities to foreign investors through the Special Economic Facilitation Council (SIFC). He said that UAE companies can invest in various sectors in Pakistan. The governor said that there are friendly relations between Pakistan and the UAE. He said that Pakistanis consider the UAE their second home due to their common religion and culture. Punjab governor said that Pakistan values the UAE’s cooperation in health and education and other sectors. The governor added that there should be more exchanges of delegations in the trade sector between the two countries.
UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi said that there are vast possibilities of cooperation with Pakistan in the renewable energy sector. He said that UAE embassy was working on resolving issues regarding visas.
Governor felicitates office-bearers
Punjab governor has congratulated Arshad Ansari as President, Zahid Abid as General Secretary, Afzal Talib as Senior Vice President, Saima Nawaz as Vice President and other newly-elected office-bearers on their success in the annual elections of the Lahore Press Club. He has expressed the hope that the newly elected governing body of the Lahore Press Club would work hard for the betterment of journalists and the promotion of positive journalism.
Governor expressed deep grief over the loss of 10 precious lives due to a bus overturning near Attock Fateh Jang Interchange. Expressing his sympathy and condolences to the bereaved families, the governor prayed that Allah Almighty may grant the deceased a place in Paradise and give the bereaved families courage to bear this loss with patience and fortitude. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. Punjab Governor also directed the local administration to provide the best medical facilities to the injured.
