Eight teaching hospitals’ BoM members appointed

LAHORE:The Punjab government has appointed members of the Board of Management of eight different teaching hospitals/institutions for the next four years.

In this regard, the Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education has issued a notification. The appointment of members in the Board of Management of 8 different teaching hospitals/institutions has been made under Section 6 of the Punjab Medical and Health Institutions Act 2003. The appointment was formally approved in a meeting of the Punjab Cabinet.

According to the details, the members of the Board of Management of Services Institute of Medical Sciences Lahore, Postgraduate Medical Institute Lahore, King Edward Medical University/Mayo Hospital Lahore, De Montmorency College of Dentistry Lahore, Punjab Institute of Cardiology Lahore, Allama Iqbal Medical College/Jinnah Hospital Lahore, Punjab Institute of Neurosciences Lahore and Sheikh Zayed Medical College Rahim Yar Khan have been appointed for the next four years.

Moot on mental health concludes

The two-day conference 'Innovations and Interventions: Enhancing Mental Health through Clinical Psychology' concluded at GC University (GCU) Lahore. Addressing the closing ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali emphasised the critical importance of mental health in developing countries like Pakistan. He remarked, 'A lack of contentment is a major cause of mental health issues in our society. We must trust Allah and believe in our own efforts, knowing that He rewards our hard work.' He added that true success was not measured by wealth or power but by knowledge, piety, and dignity. In her closing remarks, Dr Syeda Salma Hassan highlighted that the conference shed light on various aspects of mental health, offering valuable insights for both students and professionals.
