LAHORE:Punjab Minister for Local Government Zeshan Rafique has emphasised the importance of private sector partnerships for effective service delivery at local level.
Addressing a national workshop on “Sustainable and Innovative Models for Public Service Delivery” held under Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Program (PICIIP), the minister also launched the Decision Support System to encourage public-private partnership for improved municipal service delivery.
The workshop, held at a local hotel, brought together over 300 stakeholders from Pakistan to explore innovative solutions for infrastructure development, operations, and capacity building of municipal utilities in Sialkot, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Multan, and Bahawalpur.
Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Programme recognised various entities for their pivotal role in transforming municipal service delivery. The PICIIP recognised Rehman Habib Consultants’ (RHC) contributions in partnership with IBF Belgium for the impact on developing efficient operational models, sustainable business plans, and capacity-building initiatives, which have significantly enhanced the delivery of municipal services. Speaking at the event, Hamza Saliq, Project Director, said that their goal has always been to integrate innovative and sustainable practices into the municipal systems of Punjab.
