3,391 beggars rounded up in 11 months

LAHORE:Lahore Police claimed to have detained 3,391 professional beggars in last 11 months. According to the Lahore Police spokesman, the detained beggars include male, female beggars and their facilitators and they were arrested from City division, Cantonment division, Civil Lines division, Sadr division, Iqbal Town division and Model Town division. The police also booked 3,333 beggars. Meanwhile, in a statement, CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana said professional beggars exploiting children and women would not be spared.
