15-year-old girl student abducted

LAHORE : A 15-year-old girl student was reportedly abducted on her way to school in the Ghaziabad area, prompting an immediate response from the local police.

According to a police spokesperson from the Cantonment Division, a case has been registered against an unidentified suspect based on a complaint filed by the victim's father, Shafqat.

SP Cantonment Avais Shafiq stated that the police are actively tracing the suspect using CCTV footage and other surveillance methods in the surrounding area. He has instructed SDPO North Cantonment, Nadeem Yasin, to expedite the search and ensure the girl's safe recovery. “We are utilising all available resources to locate the suspect and are confident that the girl will be rescued soon,” said SP Shafiq, assuring the public that the culprit will be brought to justice swiftly.

Disciplinary action against 24 cops taken

Police continue to enforce strict internal accountability measures, with a renewed commitment to rooting out corruption and abuse of power.

In a recent departmental hearing at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran reviewed 34 show-cause notices issued to police officials, resulting in the dismissal of one officer and disciplinary actions against 23 others. During the weekly "Orderly Room" session, Kamran underscored that accountability within the police force is essential for maintaining public trust and building an efficient and responsible institution.
