Gunmen open fire on Bannu cantt

BANNU: Fear and panic gripped the area after gunmen opened heavy fire on the Bannu Cantonment early Wednesday.Sources said that the shots fired from the direction of Kot Adil near the Kurram River targeted the Bannu Cantonment.

However, the armed men fled after the security forces retaliated returned the fire. The sources added the security forces responded promptly with heavy fire, which continued for a while and forced the attackers to flee the scene. They confirmed that no casualties were reported in the intense firing between the forces and the armed men.
