What’s the rush?

Why are official government vehicles always in a rush and why do they use police cars with sirens to move or block traffic? The same government officials that are riding in these cars are not performing their government duties with the same sense of urgency or rush.
The government should enact a law that forbids any official from using police vehicles or sirens to rush through traffic. This will improve safety and reduce government fuel charges.
