Death sentence handed in double murder case
MANSEHRA: Additional District and Sessions Judge of Balakot, Asim Riaz, on Friday sentenced an accused Mohammad Ajmal to death on two counts and a fine of Rs 500,000 for the murder of two people in the Boi area in 2022.
Ajmal, who murdered two people over an old enmity in the Boi area of Garhi Police Station along with his accomplices on March 22, was present in court with his defense counsel.“The convict will be hanged by the neck until he is dead,” the judgment stated.
The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 500,000 which will be distributed among the legal heirs of the two deceased, Rawad Ali and his cousin Mushtaq Ayub, in accordance with Shariah law.The legal heirs of the deceased, along with their counsel Mohammad Khan, were also present in the court.
The SHO and the doctor who performed the autopsy at the Civil Hospital in Garhi Habibullah along with eyewitnesses were also in attendance.The judge acquitted other accused, who were already on bail.
