SFA seals chocolate factory for using expired material
A Sindh Food Authority team raided a factory in Malir and sealed it for producing unhealthy chocolates.
This operation was carried out under directives of Sindh Food Minister Jam Khan Shoro. The raid was executed by a joint team from Malir and Thatta, led by In-Charge Malir Nadeem Asghar Shar.
SFA Director General Muzamil Hussain Halepoto said more than 500 kilograms of expired raw materials for chocolate production were seized. He said unhealthy chocolates were being produced with expired products at the factory, which was sealed immediately.
He also pointed out that there were extremely unsanitary conditions and poor storage practices for raw materials in the processing area, posing a threat to public health. A fine of 500,000 rupees has also been imposed on the factory, leading to its closure.
