168 students display theses

As many as 168 students displayed their final year projects/ thesis at an inaugural ceremony of Thesis Display 2016 at Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD) on Wednesday. 

The students have put an untiring effort under the guidance of faculty. Their projects are diverse in nature and not only capture the essence of academic programme but also realities of the corporate world.

Most of the students’ projects/ products have been prepared / developed by them keeping in mind the consumer and the industry requirements. The student’s projects are as diverse as students themselves, and capture the essence of the academic programs. The students are depicted from all the province of Pakistan therefore in the work one can see diversity and fusion of culture and craft of different regions of Pakistan. 

Addressing the media, PIFD Vice Chancellor Prof Hina Tayyaba said, “I congratulate all the students for displaying their thesis work successfully.

These students have worked so hard and I wish them best of luck for their further.

I appreciate the great effort made by the course coordinators, faculty and support staff. I hope that these graduates, who are entering the global market with fresh ideas, will contribute in the future development of our economy.” The thesis display will remain open for public till June 7. 

Ms Abbassi S Akhtar, former PIFD principal, Ms Salima Hashmi, Saeed Akhtar and Humayun Zafar, president of Textile Institute of Pakistan Karachi, were the chief guests. PIFD Vice-Chancellor Professor Hina Tayyaba presented souvenir to the chief guest. 

Prof Shaista Vine, registrar, Attique Ahmad, director admin, course coordinators and senior faculty members of PIFD were present.
