99,683 POs held in 9 months
LAHORE:Punjab Police arrested 99,683 proclaimed offenders (POs) across the province in nine months. According to a police spokesperson, the police detained 17,290 accused of Category-A and 82,393 of Category-B. The spokesperson maintained over 55,000 judicial fugitives were also arrested, including 4,858 of Category-A and 50,979 of Category-B. Police arrested more than 26,000 target offenders, including 14,819 of Category-A and 11,268 of Category-B.
Over 83 POs wanted for serious crimes were brought from other countries. In Lahore some 57,000 criminals were apprehended, including 21,306 POs, 24,767 judicial fugitives, and more than 11,000 target offenders.
Eight die in road accidents in 24 hours
The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,397 road accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. In these accidents, eight people died, whereas 1,471 were injured. Out of these, 597 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 874 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
