The September CPI figure clocked in at 6.9 per cent, which is a great relief for all of us. Now it is expected that SBP may further decrease the discount rate. Since the real interest rate is quite high, it is necessary to decrease the discount rate by a reasonable margin of 3.0 per cent to 5.0 per cent.
Hopefully, our country’s stagnant economy will start to move in a positive and healthy direction after this step.
