Jirga holds MPA responsible for clash in Lower Dir

TIMERGARA: A grand jirga of the ruling and opposition parties in Lower Dir district on Sunday held the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) lawmaker Sahibzada Sanaullah responsible for the clash on the issue of inauguration of uplift schemes in Luqman Banda village.

A meeting of the grand jirga of all parties was held with head of local peace jirga and JI leader Akhunzada Sikandar Hazrat in the chair. Those who spoke on the occasion included Qadar Khan, Malik Wazir Muhammad, Akhunzada Hidayatullah, Akhunzada Bakht Munir, Haji Sher Zaman, Akhunzada Fahim Gul, Akhunzada Shujaat Said and others.

The meeting blamed Sahibzada Sanaullah, Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Upper Dir, for the clash between activists of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) and PPP and decided to support all steps taken for the uplift of the area and to punish those sabotaging the peaceful environment of Khall area. The meeting also announced a ban on all kinds of processions and protest demonstrations in Khall bazaar.

The participants said Sahibzada Sanaullah had taken the law into his own hands and damaged the peaceful situation in the area. They asked the district administration to initiate action against him.
