ESD rescues 204,338 victims in Sept
LAHORE: The Secretary Emergency Services Department (ESD) said ESD rescued 204,338 victims while responding to 210,317 emergencies across the province last month.
He expressed serious concern over 41,001 road accidents, 1,730 electrocutions, 60 structural collapse and 110 drowning emergencies.
He was presiding over the monthly operational performance review meeting held at Emergency Services Headquarters and he was apprised about monthly emergency statistics which included total 210,317 emergencies responded by Rescue Service in last month.
Out of total emergencies 143,509 were medical emergencies, 41,001 road accidents, 4,068 crime incidents, 4,412 falls/slip, 1,382 fire incidents, 5,036 delivery cases, 2,098 occupational injuries, 1,730 electric shock, 1,259 animal rescue operations, 237 burn cases, 110 drowning incidents, 60 structural collapses and 5,415 miscellaneous operations in Punjab.
The data further revealed that 345 people died in 41,001 road accidents in the province during the last month. Out of these traffic accidents, the majority of traffic accidents 8,334 occurred in Lahore in which 35 people died.
Similarly, 2,975 road accidents occurred in Faisalabad, 2,482 in Multan, 2,184 in Gujranwala, 1,542 in Rawalpindi and 1,487 in Sheikhupura while the remaining 21,997 accidents took place in 30 districts of Punjab.Similarly, 337 fire incidents happened in Lahore, 126 in Faisalabad 111 in Rawalpindi, 80 in Multan, 50 in Gujranwala and 50 in Kasur.
