KHAR: Two activists of the Jamaat-e-Islami and a police constable died in a road accident in Lower Kohistan on Monday.
The family sources said that JI district deputy chief Qari Abdul Majeed, deputy general secretary Hayat Muhammad and police constable Ashfaq Khan were coming back from Lower Kohistan district when they met with an accident at Khukyal Jijal on the Karakoram Highway.
They said that the vehicle they were traveling in went out of the driver’s control and fell into a deep ravine.As a result, Qari Abdul Majeed, Hayat Muhammad and Ashfaq lost their lives in the accident. The JI, Bajaur chapter announced mourning over the sudden and untimely death of the senior members and the cop.
Qari Abdul Majeed was a religious scholar, who had obtained a PhD degree from Qurtuba University, Peshawar. He had previously held important positions, including the district chief of JI Bajaur.
