146 cases from Pindi in 48 hours
Rawalpindi:The number of patients being tested positive for dengue fever from Rawalpindi district is registering a continuous upward trend at least for the last two weeks as in the last 48 hours, another 146 individuals have been confirmed positive for the infection from the district.
Data collected by ‘The News’ on Sunday reveals that the total number of patients so far tested positive for dengue fever from Rawalpindi district this year has reached 1172 while 138 dengue fever patients belonging to the district were undergoing treatment at the teaching hospitals in Rawalpindi on Sunday.
The fast spread of dengue fever in Rawalpindi district can be gauged from the fact that out of a total of 1172 confirmed cases of the infection this year, well over 900 have been reported in the last two weeks making the situation alarming. It is important that dengue fever has already claimed at least five lives from the district in the last four weeks.
