AIOU strengthens educational ties with Russia
Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is enhancing its academic partnerships with both national and international institutions to better serve its vast student body, according to Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood, says a press release.
This focus on academic agreements was highlighted by Professor Dr. Hajra Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences at AIOU, during her address at a documentary screening event titled ‘Russian Heritage of the Himalayas: The Journey Continues.’ The documentary screening was organised by the Faculty of Sciences and the International Collaboration and Exchange department of AIOU, with support from the Russian Embassy in Islamabad.
Dr. Hajra emphasised the university’s commitment to aligning education with global and national needs, citing recent agreements with Russian universities. She also thanked the visiting Russian delegation for gifting two books to the university’s Russian Language Centre. Led by Ivan Chayka, Chairman of Russia’s National Award Committee ‘Crystal Compass,’ a five-member Russian delegation visited AIOU to explore opportunities for collaboration.
