Parents oppose male principal for girls school

PESHAWAR: Parents of deaf and dumb children enrolled at a school in Yakatoot locality have protested the appointment of a male principal at the girls’ school.

Parents of the schoolchildren gathered at the school and staged a protest. They said that the authorities should post a female principal there.

Speaking at the protest, a parent said that a female principal was already posted there but she was transferred to a school for boys while a male principal was posted in the special children’s school in the Yakatoot area, in violation of the cultural values.

A letter has also been written by the parents committee of the school and submitted to the office of the secretary of Social Welfare, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The letter, shared with the media, bore the signatures of parents.
