MANSEHRA: The representatives of district, tehsil, village and neighbourhood councils have threatened to block main road to all sort of traffic for an indefinite period if Civil Hospital Oghi, which was destroyed in earthquake in 2005, was not reconstructed and upgraded to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

Speaking at a press conference in Oghi on Thursday, district councillor Haji Faridoon, tehsil member Jamal Alvi, nazim of neighborhood council Oghi Gul Samad, youth councillor and member of health committee Syed Qadir Shah, general councillors Qasim Khan, Saqib Khan, Zulfiqar Qureshi and others asked the government to start reconstruction of hospital.

Faridoon said that the
government was not interested in reconstruction of the
hospital.

He said that Mohammad Safdar, the son-in-law of prime minster who was elected from NA-21 in 2013 general elections, also failed to take action against Earthquake Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Authority which couldn’t reconstruct the hospital.

Speaking on the occasion, Jamal Alvi said that the sole hospital in Oghi had been providing health services only from 9 am to 2 pm daily.
