Polio team attacked in Lahore

House inmates including a woman abused Health Department staffers, manhandled them and threatened them with dire consequences

LAHORE: A polio vaccination team was assaulted by a family in UC 69, Data Ganj Bakhsh Town, on Thursday.

The incident occurred when the team knocked on the door of a house. The house inmates including a woman abused the Health Department staffers, manhandled them and threatened them with dire consequences. The accused tore the clothes of a female polio worker.

Police have apprehended a woman and a man and registered a case on a complaint lodged by the area supervisor.
