LG reps urge govt to release funds
MANSEHRA: The elected representatives in Nimal Fateh Bandi village council in Oghi tehsil on Sunday demanded the government to release development funds to local bodies without any further delay.
Talking to reporters, Mohammad Javed, a peasant councillor, said that the government should release development funds and honourarium to the local government representatives. He said that the successive governments in the province had ignored the local bodies due to which the system had not been able to deliver.
Javed said the people’s confidence in the grassroots-level system would be restored if funds were released and development schemes were executed through the elected representatives. “We (LG representatives) want the government to release funds without any further delay so that we could start execution of development schemes in our respective village councils,” he added.
