Nasir, Bilawal discuss rehabilitation of flood-hit people
Sindh Minister for Energy and Planning & Development Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has asked Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to take up the issue of funds for the housing and rehabilitation of flood affectees in Sindh with the federation.
He held a meeting with the PPP chairman at the Bilawal House, Islamabad, on Thursday to discuss the energy sector and development funds for Sindh.
The energy minister said he had requested the PPP chairman to speak to the Centre regarding the release of funds that had been previously committed by the federation and then withheld.
According to a statement issued by the Sindh energy department, Shah said the federal government had promised to help build houses and other infrastructure for the flood victims, but the funds for those had not yet been released.
Bilawal said he had discussed the matter with the federal government, urging it to release the funds as soon as possible so that the flood victims could be rehabilitated.
