Eight evening schools closed in Shangla
ALPURI: Eight government schools, which were providing education to students in the evening, were closed in the Shangla district, an official said on Friday.
The Government Primary School, Alpuri, Government Primary School, Damorai, Government Primary School, Lewanai, Government Primary School, Malikkhel Kotakay, Government Primary School, Sheshan Lewanai and Government Middle School, Managay were closed down due to low enrolment of students.
District Education Officer, Shangla, Muzaffar Ali said that these schools had been closed since summer vacation.He said that the salaries had been paid to the teachers. He said the schools were closed due to the low enrolment of students. The official added the teachers had been recruited locally and they had been paid their dues.
The official said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department had issued the directives in a letter to close down the schools.Around 176 such schools, which were operating in 14 districts across KP, were shut down because of low enrolment of students.
