Maulana Sherani blames incapable rulers for economic crisis
TAKHTBHAI: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sherani chief Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani on Wednesday said that the rulers were fleecing the masses with both hands by levying heavy taxes and spending on their luxuries lavishly.
Talking to reporters at the residence of JUI-Sherani leader Johar Ali Khan Mohmand, he said that the poor and educated youths were compelled to commit suicide due to high inflation, unemployment and corruption in almost all the government departments. Maulana Shuja-ul-Mulk, Mufti Muhammad Naeem, Maulana Nadeem Haqqani, Hafiz Siraj Azad and others were also present on the occasion.
Maulana Sherani alleged that the establishment was using the leaders of political parties for its vested interests that led the country towards the destruction, lawlessness and dwindling business activities and economy. “The country faces a host of problems, including lawlessness, militancy and poor economic condition,” he said, adding that the rulers must take practical steps for the restoration of lasting peace in the country.
He held the incompetent rulers responsible for the current economic meltdown and poor law and order situation, saying that unrest was increasing day by day due to their flawed policies. The welfare state, he added, had turned into a slaughterhouse for the masses and no one was taking responsibility for all this mess.
“People are yearning for a one time meal but the rulers were leading a luxurious life,” he believed. He said that if there was no democracy within Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF), how will they fight for the supremacy of democratic norms in the country?
Maulana Sherani said that his party stood with traders and the business community and their workers would extend every support to the protest movement in future as well.
